My difficult hair

ok I have sometimes frizzy, thick, pretty curly, dark brown hair. my parents wont let me dye it or cut it super short or permanantly straighten it. layering is not good 4 my har because it makes it poof and straightening takes 4ever. what can I do with my hair that will make it look edgier?
is there something that will make it more reasonable?
I no if the only answer is 2 straighten it, then I will, but thats my last resort

you can always use that hair straightening stuff its like a lotion that you rub in I used to use that until I started straightening mine.

I have the same exact hair! Honestly, dying it would look totally gross. What I do is I buy curl enhancing stuff, it makes your hair curly and pretty. ( Shampoo's, conditioners, sprays) THen I let it air dry. Sometimes I even curl it to make the curls even prettier, with a curling iron. We are lucky because with our hair, the curls stay well. and if we dont like curls we can straighten it. People with straight hair can rarely curl it because it like totally gets straight after like an hourr

I though the same promblem to tell you the truth and it sucks!!! I half straightn it and what I mean by that is I striaghten it till the puff is gone but the curles are not
