My cat dribbles on my chest when cuddling with me!!

at night my cat likes to sleep with me on my bed.
he sometimes gets weird, and hes done this for years, but I still have no clue why, or what he is doing!!

he will come up to me face/chest, and start purring, then he will rub his face and gobby...

mouth alover my chest.. what on earth is he doing and thinking???

does anyone have the same problem or know why he would do this?
