My call of duty 4 is not workin

I have call of duty 4 for the ps3 and I played it on multiplayer for awhile but all of a sudden it just wont load. Like when I get into multiplayer then it says downloading game setting and it never finishes no matter how long I wait

clean the disk using a very fine cloth and glasses cleaner and then reset your console without the disk in the drive and then with the disk in the drive
