How can i help my boyfriend take us more seriously?

promised he would never forget...not 2 months later from when we've been together...I ask him if he had remembered he sadly says no...I was so mad...then I asked my friend for advice and she said ...well if you want to give him anothe chance you should...anyways as long as you both know you love each other that shouldnt matter...but I said...if he does love me he should of remembered...my boyfriend tells me he cant remember a lot of stuff...[I have to put a stop to his FORGETNESS] and I dont know what to do...I am his first girl friend and I understand that he is not use to it..but I just dont know how to teach him that out relationship is as important as everything else...
