How can I get my boyfriend's sister to like me?

My boyfriend and I have been dating on and off for about a year. we broke up about two months ago, and now we are starting to get back together. This however is not the problem. His older sister hates me, I don't know if it's that I broke up with him and want to date him again, or another reason. I CAN live with her hating me, but I CAN'T live with her continually calls me a slut and whore to my face and to the people around her, it just eats me up inside, and half the time thats all I think about. I never did anything with anyone else while we were broken up either. But we never really had a friendly relationship before I broke up with him. I really don't know what to do. She isn't one of the nicest people either, she has a short temper. So how should I make things better? Should I try to become friends with her? Or do you think she will just reject my friendly-ness? How do I talk to her?

I think you should talk to your boyfriend about it, act as if her coments don't affect you and just be really nice and polite to her even if you don't get a good response. Eventually she will give up and get bored if you act as if you don't care and she may even start to like you! Good luck hunni! x

Your boyfriend is kind of a jerk for allowing her to treat you that way. I would be as equally upset with him in this situation. I would tell your boyfriend as long as she treats you with this kind of disrespect, that you no longer wish to spend any time at his house when his sister is around, and/or with ger around you at all. You guys can spend time at your house or out and about.

If he doesn't understand or respect that or if that doesn't get him to start taking steps to fix his sister, then just dump him.

It's not like you guys are married and you have to put up with this. You have a choice here.
