Is anyone in a similar situation with their man being in jail?

theres this guy...when I was thirteen he was my first everything...I fell in love with him...he got locked up for 4 and a half years...I wrote to him and stuff but I did have other boyfriends...I love this dude...sooo much...but now hes doing the same junk...he is so sweet and caring but can be a complete f*kin jerk sometimes(he is bipolar) I don't know what to do anymore...I love him..I want to be with him and he wants to be with me...do I just deal with it or what??? I need a homegirl who can relate...hit me up if your in a similar situation with a guy who is in jail or prison...thanx

hey girl... well I had a similar situation... I met this guy in 2004 and we were heavy into dating... lived together the whole 9 ... in 2006 he got locked up for robbery... later diagnosed with bi polar and shitzophrenia as well... we wrote back and forth for over 2 years... and I dated as well(as you) I got pregnant though...he just recently got out... we talk...on the phone and he is planning to come see the baby... my advice to you... is stick by his side if you truly love him and you can see yourself with someone like him for the rest of your life... thats a question you must ask yourself... hope I helped in some way...

sometimes jail life is the only life they know... how old is he? now?

he is 19

he got out the day before thanksgiving...everything was fine...but the day before new years he wanted to cut off his monitor and go wild...so he did...I took him all over the place and stuff...he says he loves me. he has my name tatted on his neck...and he says he wants to marry me after he gets out because ill be 18...I really can see myself with him...im 17 now and hes 19...its just so confusing!!!

im sorry your going thru that right now... if you truly love him like you say you do ... stick by his side things im sure will get better..

I think hes still immature. he says he loves you and he might but still not understanding the depths of love. if he really did love you as he says he does then he wouldnt want to take the chance of cutting off his stupid monitor and gow ild. hes not thinking long term.my boyfriend just got out after a year and I waited on him and wrote him the whole bit. and he came home and now hes back in. he was here 2.5 months and hadnt done all his c.s. so now hes back in. I find out next tuesday if he gets to come home or if thyre going to revocate his probhation. the jail life is a tough life man not only for the ones in jail but the ones they left behind too. you just need to ask god if thats what he wants for you. its not going to help if you dont want what he wants for you though.
