Every album they make puts money in their pockets, same with concerts they play, but like Slipknot once said they're also spending money for new equipment, sure singers do earn money by performing live but it takes some money out to pay for injuries if occurred and to play at that certain place.

well there are still the concerts they put on so they would get paid through that. the souveniors people buy from the concerts like posters, t shirts, cd,s, hats etc...
and who knows what else then again with the way the economy is going a lot of celebs are having to start shopping at walmart because other places are just getting way too expensive

half of them are not making much money as they use too. unless your beyonce or whatnot a lot of musicians are struggling to make ends meet. why do you think the riaa is big on piracy?

They make money from selling albums in stores, mostly. (People still actually buy them!) Every song/album you buy on iTunes or equivalent earns the artist 15% of the price. They also get 60% of the ticket money whenever they put on a concert. Radio stations, music televison etc need to get permission from the PRS (performing rights society) so that an agreed amount of money is given to the artist every time their song or video is played. Artists or bands that have their songs featured in commercials have a bonus! They get paid royalties on top of the money they're making. As a side note, they're going to take down all of the music videos from Youtube and stop people watching them :/ they've already started. Hope this helps.
