Movie title

Hey, I'm trying to remember the name of this movie that I watched years ago while at my grandpa's house. It's at least seven or more years old. It's about a women who wanted her own guerilla and got one. When the guerilla became older he, I believe, didn't like red and got loose somehow. The women liked to sing and wore her hair up, and she was very wealthy. She fed the guerilla, when it was a baby, mashed bananas, and the guerilla wore a diaper. That's about all I can remember, I've been trying to remember the title for days and I can't, thanks for any help!

Hmmm I don't know if this is the movie you are talking about but there was a movie made in the 90's with Rene Russo called Buddy where she raises a gorilla from a baby.
