Motivating boyfriend to go to college!

Hello everyone,

My boyfriend graduated high school in 2005, and has been working/loafing on and off since then. He has said that he's been looking into school and seemed interested in a few job outlooks, but as I've learned recently, he just doesn't want to go to school.

We had a big fight about it yesterday, (I want him to go to school, he does not) and I realized that in that argument, I was trying to force him. He just doesnt see the point in earning a degree, (wasting time/money etc.) but I want him to at least reseach and see if there is something he'd like to study! I know now that I cant pressure him, but if I don't do something, I see him working in a dept. store for the rest of his life. He loves videogames, and I told him he should try something in that field, but he just wont budge.

Do you guys have any ideas to try and motivate or convince him to try and do some research? Is it even worth it? I'm almost questioning it myself! :[

I will add that he did seem somewhat open to considering the idea! Let me know what you guys thinkl, and thanks in advance!

You just explained me basically, I seen no point in school till someone told me about game design, so a "community" college will suffice, get a degree in gaming (theres a lot of different areas) but im starting august for game design and networking (networking is my current job, all I do is keep a site much like this up and error free from home for about 15-16 an hour).

Tell him he can get himself into game design and he'll seriously think about it :P

Another alternative is for him to join the military (I'd suggest Air Force). It would give him a chance to gain more in maturity and help him decide better what he wants out of life. If he then chooses to go to college, the government will help pay for it.

If he doesn't have any real goals, yet, the military isn't such a bad deal.
