We're expected to be good people, but that doesn't sell. So they show us all these other images of pretty people, and how fun it is, and how great they are, and how skinny, and beautiful and then they cut to commercial and tempt you to buy diet pills, make-up, the flirty girl fitness work out tapes, and things of that nature. People feel ugly when they watch those types of television shows with all those gorgeous skinny girls and the buy into it. It's sad, really. How many times a day do you see questions about how do you lose weight? why do girls think im ugly? How do I make myself pretty? Well according to the media, girls think you're ugly because you don't smell like axe. According to the media you're not pretty because you don't have proactiv, you don't have that mascara that adds that extra length, your hairs not silky enough because you don't have that right shampoo, you have no style because you don't shop at that cool store. it's not true, and it gets me angry!

Morality vs. the media
I was wondering how people feel about this topic..
I feel like society contradicts what people should be like as the average All-American. On one hand, we are told to be good people who work hard and live a good and moral lifestyle, but on the other...
hand, we are bombarded with shows like Gossip Girl and a lot of others and songs in hip hop and R-rated movies that show people who completely contradict exactly what that safe, happy lifestlye is. We go through seeing both women and men objectified and told that we are only good for our looks but yet are expected to debate politics when election year comes up. Which of these is what we are expected to be?
