Monotony in life

&& she thinks of him constantly Asked by jessicaxxo 2 months ago, 7 answers.

Does anyone feel like life can get monotones? I feel like there’s so little to do around where I live. I mean there’s the obvious outings such as the mall or movies, and going out to dinner. But aside from that I feel like there really isn’t anything to go do with friends/boyfriend.

Seriously there is only so many times you can sit at Starbucks, or Panera without becoming bored out of you mind.

anyone have any ideas about what to do with freetime that doesnt include the TV or computer.

That's the problem with people to day they much rather go on there computer, play video games, or watch TV. Personality Id rather hang out with my friends in person rather then playing them over the Internet. I kinda have the same problem. Id try getting groups of friends over. Youl have so much more fun because you can do a lot more with a crowd of people.

jessica,

You are 18 and live in a fairly large city. I'd recommend that you get yourself involved in some kind of community volunteer program. There are probably many in your area, whether it's the Girl Scouts, a Senior Center, Food Bank or Soup Kitchen. They all need volunteers.

Volunteering would not only help you occupy some of your free time, but it would also help you build up further your self esteem. You might see how well off you are compared to lots of other less fortunate people and gain a greater realization of the world around you.

Another alternative is to become more involved here on Fun Advice and Answer many more categories of questions. That, in itself, is a very satisfying endeavor.

Go find a big open field and play tag. Take old school childish ideas and make them fun again, like invite everyone to a tea party and make everyone dress up. Perform a play. Make up your own version of 'Whose Line is it Anyway'.

Wow you sound like me, there is nothing here to do other than mall and bowling lol. I think most people around here resort to drinking and pot to get kicks. But who wants to do that??? I am really easily amused. My cousins and I take our cameras around and take pictures of stupid things. We go to local wrestling shows, check in to anything that goes on locally like that. Sometimes there is stuff going on but you don't know it because they don't advertise. We go to the good will and buy crazy old clothes and dared each other to walk the mall twice over wearing these hideous outfits. You could go fishing if there is any large body of water near you. Like nerd said, I used to play hide and seek with my friends in an old abandoned house, tho I don't recommend trespassing. Air hockey and pool is fun in big groups of people. So is the drive in. Mini golf? lol Now I am just throwing ideas out there. Well I hope you find some fun this summer.
