Money trees and their rubber bands

Do I remove the rubberbands that are around the braids of my little 1 foot money plant? I just got it and I'm not sure; if I remove the rubberbands will the braids unravel???

It just may unravel. You might want to keep them on or loosen them if they look they are biting into the plant. If the braid is long enough then it should be ok to remove the lower bands.
