The rate of pay one receives from employment is all relative. For example, you are only 16, so yes, $10 an hour can be seen as a decent amount of pay. However, for a person who is, say, 40 years old, $10 an hour will barely be enough to even get by on - especially if that individual has real world bills to pay such as a car loan, a mortgage, insurance, taxes, and so on. For most, $10 an hour is not very good pay at all -IF they are older. For a young person still living at home with few, or no bills to pay it is really a good amount to be making. As for myself, I would never be able to get by on that amount. I need much more than that, and I am fortunate enough to be earning a lot more than that. If I didn't, I would be in financial ruins. You'll understand as you get older, trust me on that!
In the meantime, enjoy it because it goes by so quickly, and before you know it, you too could own a house, a few cars, and have many bills to pay. One bit of advice that will do you good to remember for many years to come: Avoid getting yourself into debt if at all possible. I'm talking about excessive spending of money that you don't have by using credit cards, and taking out unnecessary loans, and so on.Always live within your means...
