Mom slapped her daughter over ex boyfriend

My best friend mom slapped her yesterday across the face. And she recently broke up with ehr boyfriend of a year and a couple months. And her mom told her that it was her fault as to why the broke up (they broke up bc he said he didnt love her anymore). And contuied on calling her a b***h and a s***t. And today her mom hit her again to show her that she didnt hit her that hard and said she would drop everything about ehr and her ex (she has said it many times and just contuines it anyway) She told me not to tell my mom because she is afraid that itll get worse. I dont know what to do. Help!
