Mom and boy problems?

I have this friend, and well we are kindof more than friends. But nothing official. Hes a little complicated, but so am I. I think that we have learned to understand eachother in a way that is different from others. I wouldnt say thati love him, because that is a strong word. But I do know that I deffinately need him in my life. The only problem is that my mom has only seen him once, and already made up her mind that she doesnt like him, and that I can't have anything to do with him. I'm not worried about not being able to be around him. Out of respect, I just want my mom to understand that she needs to like him becasue he is important to me. ...how do I go about getting her approval?

I have never interfered two other persons' likes and dislikes, even if that was in the closed family, like your problem is now. So, in your place I would just not deal with their friendship or antipathy. You may like or "need" both of them, and they may do not "need" each other at all..
