In this modern day, there are many prophets, but how about Apostles, are there any among us, and is there proof? Names of either would help.

I'm not exactly sure, as I don't study the Bible as frequently as I probably should, but I would think yes.

Many would say no, but, actually I feel differently. I was in a meeting just the other night, where a prophet was ministering. His name is Kim Clement. He probably has a website online. http://www.kimclement.com/

There are many ministries out there that do believe in the Apostolic annointing.

I think Morning Star ministries is one of them. http://www.morningstarministries.org/

You will probably get answers that vary on this question, as well as others, in the bible. There are multitudes of different beliefs that stem from the same faith, that is why there are so many different churchs out there.

If you are in a church that does not believe this, and you do, then you will either have to quit believing it, or find a church that does believe it.

My personal belief is that the apostle and prophet are both being restored to the church. or I should say to come churches, because there will be many that do not believe this.

Interesting - I certainly have met some prophets (I guess any Christian could receive a prophecy from God, but some people are clearly full-time prophets). I never found them easy people to be with - they seemed to be burning on the inside, and although I agreed with the challenges they gave to the Church, it was sometimes easier to avoid them, if I'm honest.

Apostles - how do you define that role in modern-day terms, warmheart and silverwings?

The Pope follows Apostolic orders. Any minister can be an apostle of Christ. You have to behave, live and lead as the apostles did for Christ in Christ's time. Of course by being an apostle of Christ you are still not perfect but you try to perfect your ways and live for Christ and not for yourself or the mundane.

Thanks, mamk. What's the difference between being an apostle and being a disciple, in modern day terms, do you think?

We who carry our crosses each day for Christ are disciples and there are prophets like Bible teaching ministers such as Francis Schaeffer, Rick Warren, and even yours, but there were only a few Apostles in Jesus' time.

Blessings in your searching.

Flossheal. I don't claim to know it all but if you ask me about the difference in modern day apostles and the old time apostles. I say we have more challenges to be apostolic now since we have many more commodities. Christ said leave all you have and follow Me. I don't think many of us can carry that out. Commodities in old times were not as many and therefore I believe it may have been somewhat easier in respect to personal choice of being apostolic. The challenge in old times was Christian persecution. It would have been a challenge back then too I guess. Modern day true apostles would be hard to come by.
