Tell him to do short strokes and whenever he feels the urge then try changing positions. There are a couple exercises because all it is, is a muscle that contracts. Tell him, whenever he's mas*urbat*ng try to hold it back for as long as possible and if successful then start again and hold back again. He can do this while using the bathroom as well.
