Mic help, how to plug it in?

I just got a mic today and I don't know how to plug it in and how to activate it ( that is if I have to). please help

plug it in the pink jack on the back of your computer , and to test it go to , control panel sounds and audio devices voice at the bottom click ..test hardware

There's a port at the back of your pc that should show a little picture of a mic, or it will be the same colour as the output on the mic cord - just plug it in

You don't usually have to activate them - they're mostly plug n' play, but you will need to have a program or site that allows use of mics to actually hear anything
