Experimenting in a drug and becoming an addict are two different things. You are responsible for one but not the other.

Personally, I could never stand being with an addict on any level and didn't have the energy to put into it. If you have the energy and you want to try, you are just going to have to tell him that he does too many drugs too often for your comfort level and that you don't want to sign up for that kind of relationship. If he doesn't stop (which, he probably won't), then I'd check out fast if I were you. Don't feel guilty though--someone at some point would have handed him a joint to smoke. He is the one taking it too far, not you.
