let me see ... over the course of time; I have met Brenda Vaccaro, David Niven, Harry Belafonte, Nelson Rockefeller, And my personal favorite was Dolly Parton. She tipped my sister $50 for just one drink. My sister was waiting tables in LA and I had come in to watch her work. Dolly chatted with us and when time came to go; she left, but sent her chauffeur back into the restaurant to hand my sis a crisp new $50 dollar bill. She was just the same in person as she is in interview, a real sweetheart.
The most famous people I've ever met were the late Shah of Iran and the queen Farah Diba. I was about 13 at the time. - very thrilling Farah was wearing a few million $ worth of diamonds and jewels.
Frank Sinatra sang to my ex and me on our wedding night. He was performing at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas and asked for a show of hands if you were just married. We were the only ones in that show to raise our hands. We had front row table, so he brought his drink over, toasted us and sang- ^Love And Marriage^
Love and marriage,
Love and marriage
Go together
Like a horse and carriage
This I tell you brother
You can't have one without the other
Love and marriage, love and marriage
It's an institute you can't disparage
Ask the local gentry
And they will say it's elementary
Try, try, try to separate them
It's an illusion
Try, try, try, and you will only come
To this conclusion
Love and marriage, love and marriage
Go together like a horse and carriage
Dad was told by mother
You can't have one without the other
The marriage lasted 18 years, but the memory of that night is forever.
Ahh, that was sweet! Imagine the odds of being the only couple in the room who just got married--in Vegas!! Pretty slim! We were married in Vegas as well--15 years ago.
When I was 20 years younger and in my wilder days, you used to be able to stand outside the back door of venues after concerts and almost be one on one with the performers.
A lot of you younger ones *prob* won't know some of these:
Met Bob Seger backstage after the show--at the back door and they let us in!
Followed REO Speedwagons limo back to their hotel. When we parked and got to the front steps--their road manager was standing outside and asked if we were there for REO. We said yes, he says,Room 211 ladies--go right on up! Stayed and partied for several hrs! Summer I graduated from HS!!
And of course, Bryan Adams. Got to meet him w/ a hug and a kiss! (=
