x + 2 = 0
x = -2

2(-2) + 2 = -2

NVM^^^ I was wrong!!

okay lets see

two more than twice a number is equal to the number itself. Find the number.

2X+2=X
subtract 2 from each side
2X=X-2
divide 2 from each side
X=X-1
then I don't know srry I tried as best I cann sad schoo doesnt start till the 8th for me. happy

You just have to write the equation.
You have a number, then double it then add 2, and it equals the original number.

I rewrote the question slightly, on porpoise.
(I'm sorry for that fishy pun. It's a bad halibut of mine.)

x=-2

2(-2)+2=-2

-4+2=-2
