ty -- those are the steps I performed on my previously easier compositions of functions, but this problem has a fractional line running though it, and the book answer indicates
3x + 9 over x + 1 ( 'over' as in fraction or division line. )
but.. I guess I will just attempt to figure out these problems on my own. xD thanks anyways.
6/x+1 + 3
then you open it up... which equals 3x+9/x+1
to add fractions this page might help http://www.mathsisfun.com/fractions_addition.html

Math problem
Find f(g(x)) , if
f(x) = 2x +3
g(x) = 3/x+1 [ the / sign is drawn as a line in the book like how you would see in fractions. ]
How would you do this problem? I'd also rather have an explanation than a straight up answer so I learn this. =)
