Lump on my dog after she got spayed.

I got my dog spayed on the 25th and where her stitches are, theres a hard lump inside her.

Do you know if this is normal? I am definitely calling the spay/neuter clinic to ask tomorrow but I would like to hear some answers at the moment.

Thank you.

Yes, make sure she is not licking it. call them like you said, and she may be having a reaction to one of the Sutures. There is about two layers of sutures on the inside that should desolve. some dogs have a reaction to them. I know you will do what you have to. we had a female cat come to our hosiptal after a couple of day from being spayed at at the spay and neuter clinic and her reaction was so bad we had to open it back up, clean it out and us a different suture then some glue and she was fine. the bad part is, this my not be the hospital’s fault and you will have to pay.. Good luck, let us know how she is doing.

um.. a hard lump… doesn’t sound normal. I know when I got my dog spayed, around where her stitches were, it was a little swollen and red…but that goes away a few days later. I recommend you get some antibiotics from the doctor that spayed her, especially if she is going to be outside to prevent infections. I think I paid like 35 bucks or something like that. Also, just make sure she doesn’t lick it AT ALL! She will end up pulling the stitches out. I tried the lamp shade thing but it didn’t work…

My dog has a HARD LUMP like things inside are twisted into a knot. REALLY HARD like qristle.

Should I ask another vet than the one who spayed her?
