Can anyone give me a crash course in soccer?

My girlfriend plays soccer but I'm in baseball. I have no clue about soccer. What should I know?

Well first of all, I don't think you should get obsest with something just because your girlfriend plays. But anyway, here is my advice:You should know how a soccer ball looks first.(no duh)
You should also know the main rules such as which teams tries to make a goal in which goal and fouls etc. soccer is like b-ball, except you play with your feet not your hands and it involves more running. for more rules on soccer, google soccer rules and fouls.
as long as you support her, I think uve done enough.
p.s. I hope you didn't lie and say sometin like you k a lot bout soccer, that would be bad...

First and foremost you've got to know that soccer is about playing the game ; NOT about scoring many points! What???? you may ask. Well like those steamy times on the couch together, it's the journey that makes the game interesting. The amazing foot work , the incredible pass, the brilliantly placed through ball and subsequent acceleration to thje ball, the set up , the vision , the strike on the ball, and the improbability of the score! The odds are so stacked against you , that, when you do get a ball past all the defenses ( and off sides rule) to see a ball make it to the net, is a CONCLUSION worthy of a scream! It's the process! It's Patience! It's an appreciation of the intricasies, and the difficulties, the denials, the slap backs, the officials( like her parents walking in ) DAMN! It , in addition is all executed with those odd appendages at the stub end of your here to fore gangly legs. SOCCER, like your beloved basdeball, like the phenomenal basketbell, or the grizzely football, must be appreciated for the level of EXECUTION!!!!! that it's party affords. SO, be very patient! try to get a soccerball past four defenders and a goal keeper. Keep trying! Be patient, and learn to appreciate the difficulties that your frien and others have mastered, And know that SOCCER is not a set of plays , it's not a static batter waiting for some rocketed pitch, It's about dog tired warriors plugging and chugging to execute. There's no dug out time NO rain delays, SOCCER is about getting off the couch and moving the scene to anather level. IF you're good enough!!

You know it would probably mean a lot to her if you asked her to teach you how to play. It would let her know that you are interested in her activities. It would most definately give you some brownie points. Good luck!

Well, I watch all the teams on TV, my favorite team for MLS is New England Revolution, they are the greatest I saw them play in New Jersey. Uhm, I'm not really sure what to tell you, I mean I know a lot, soccer is my favorite- but other than watch it, like follow it in the newspaper, and look up the basic stuff online, try to juggle, uhm, learn some moves/tricks, its always fun for me to watch people juggle [like I can] and do different tricks that I can learn from, from what I already know.

I agree with ekouso1...but its up to you well the object basically is to get the ball in the opponent team's goal...not theres a limit to the contact that players have...theres no pushin from behind or sliding from behind...and well just a magnificint sport to watch...what more can I say
