Love is a strong word

sister's graduation Asked by esth3r 4 months ago, 3 answers.

Well, its been over a month now, and my boyfriend and I are in a long distance relationship. And well, all my other boyfriends have always said I love you within 1 week tops. My current hasn't. Once I told him I loved him and he totally changed the...

subject. But he's totally ohkay with calling me sweet thang or sweetie. And he says he really likes me, but only when I ask him. And the other day he said he was glad I was back in his life(because I left the country for vacation.) So does he love me? Is he not ready for I love you? Is he just too afraid of rejection?
Help me please

I think he does love you, but he isn't ready to say it. You are definitly a big part of his life and he really cares about you but it takes time for boys to open up to girls. For girls it's easier to tell a guy we love them then for a boy to admit his feelings. Just don't force it on him, when he is ready to say it he will. (:

Omg love isint something that you can force. Your previous boyfriends saying they loved you within a week is insane that's not real love just lust or infatuation! Just give him time and when he TRUELY loves you he will tell you (:

Those boys who told you they loved you don't know what love is. If they did they wouldn't say it so quickly, and the relationships wouldn't have broken down so easily. We can't know what's going on in his head, it could be any of those. You need to ask him. I don't get why you would want to have the word banded about so freely though, surely you're devaluing it, surely it would be more special if you waited for a more realistic love to develop. As a guy I have had women tell me they love me, and I have not said it back right away on occasions. It's not that I didn't care about them or that the love didn't develop later on, it was that I just think it should mean something before saying it.
