Is it possible to love a friend instead of being in love?

Asked by prseagle about 1 year ago, 5 answers.

I work on a cruise ship and during my last contract I met and now realize I fell in love with someone on the ship. We live in completely different parts of the world... I am in love with her, she really likes me and want to be good friends and when it...

gets down to it... with the situation I would much rather it be that way too.

Is it possible to step backwards and just LOVE as a friend and not BE IN LOVE? Anyone had experience?

If its true love- emotions wont fade. Love her from a distance. Keep in contact and be her friend. Let it take its course.. If you guys are really in love, or if its really love you feel- then it will work itself out.

True love is hard to find. Go live with her if your able. If not I don't know.

this is the truth.. true love is hard to find, but just keep in touch, and suprisingly your emotions may fade. :]

It can go either way:

Absence makes the heart grow fonder
or
Out of sight, out of mind
