How do you wear underwear?

so for some reason my little brother is not sure if he is positioning himself rite in his underwear. so he asked me how to do it. I told him to do what ever feels most comfortable, but he said he wanted a better answer...I wear boxerbriefsand I point my stuff upwards. but I know one of my friends who points his to the side and one who points it down. what should I tell him?

make him try all the possible ways and ask him what feels best to him.
