Lip piercing

why do people think since I pierced my lip myself it was going to get infected. .

cause you like to put dirty things in your mouth ;]

Probably because most of the time, when you do a piercing yourself... it DOES get infected. You should always get them done professionally since it's better that way. Just keep an eye on it and if something WOULD go wrong, take it out and wait until it heals before you have it redone.

I'm getting the middle of my lip pierced when

anyone who's too lazy to get someone else to shove a nice large needle through their face will probably cut corners with prep and aftercare. . .it's a stereotype I've seen proven over and over again. Typically these aren't infections though, they're just severe irritations.

If you want a piercing, you want proper jewelry in the proper placement. . .if not it's likely to tear, shift positions, reject. . .a number of problems. . .all of which are severely irritating.

DIY is great for clothing and even hair, but don't mess with your health like that. . .the slightest introduction of staph into your body can wreak havoc on your system.

did they ask you to take it out before it gets infected?if thats the case,they just dont want you to pierce

I am glad that I pierced my lip. ..it looks fine. . .I did it last tuesday. . .
