Limewire: how to get songs?

I download limewire, and when I type in a artist, no results are found, or it tell me to wait, I've tried taking my firwall off, but it didnt work, so how can I can free songs?

In the bottom left hand corner it there are some blocks that look like steps, if they are notgreen it means yout interent hasnt conncted to limewire yet. I have also found out that Limewire isnt compatible with windows vista at the mo so if you have vista that could be it. Other than that I can only think of chekin the settings on limewire itself and seeing if there are any things that need to be switched on .

Remember, downloading copyrighted music off of Limewire is prohibited as a part of Limewire's Terms of Service, and should ou get caught you can face large penalties.

Try this better alternative: CITRIXWIRE looks and works just like limewire but is faster and has more to offer.
Remember...downloading copyrighted material is illegal..be sure the material you are downloading is cleared for public domain, or has been licenced for sharing.
I'm not advocating downloading copyrighted material, but if I were going to do so...I would use a Torrent Engine, like bit torrent, torrent tornado, etc. these are set up to download a tiny piece of something from hundreds of different places all at the same time, and assemble it into your download. Very hard to detect.

lime wire did that to me before. try removing it from your computer and then try re downloading it. when you open your limewire make sure all the bars on the bottom left are green. then search for your songs.
