Limewire

Right, I have LimeWire and also Windows Vista. For some reason my LimeWire will only connect with one bar and therefore won't download any music. It says it has detected a Firewall..
I uninstalled LimeWire and downloaded it again and it worked but only...

for a day untill it dectected another firewall.. I uninstalled it again and downloaded a slightly better version but this time it won't work at all.. It's detected a Firewall..

I have been on Control Panel; Firewall and made sure LimeWire is excepted but it still doesn't work..

I read somewhere that Windows Vista is the problem?

What happens if I turn off my Firewall and will this work?

If not, how do I fix it?

if you have an antivirus software installed its safe to turn of your firewall and yes it should give you full connection... but im not 100% sure so youre going to have to try it first...

Try ares instead...

and my usual disclaimer... uploading copy right music is illegal...

Vista is not the problem...your firewall is. check the exception list and make sure its not bloking communications from limewire. Try shutting down the firewall (dont unistall) and then using limewire. If it works and you have a full connection, your firewall is the problem

ps. uninstalling limewire solves nothing...

I said I checked that LimeWire is in my exceptions.. No luck..

I know uninstalling it solves nothing now don't I :L
