I only just met my friend's mate and we quite hit it off but have gone out twice and it seems to always have to be the 3 of us caus my friend has liked me for ages.

want to hurt my friend - I don't even know if me and the guy will hit it off so I may end up wrecking the friendship.

keep the friendship! no good friendship is worth losing over someone you dont know too well. a friend will always be there for you, but this other guy might not even be anything special at all.

Well I guess you should tell your friend that you want to bond with his friend and let him know your going to invite him and just him tell him nit to take it personal..
