Is it okay to crush on a cousin that's not blood related?

Asked by darkmetal884 about 1 year ago, 3 answers.

I have this cousin I really like as in like a relationship, I know it sounds weird but thats the thing, shes not my blood cousin, my uncle married a girl who had a daughter before she met him. Well what im asking is: Is it right to like a cousin thats not cousin by blood?

Send this to a friend

Dear darkmetal884,
Yes it's okay...but you are asking because you probably feel this will create a problem within the family. You probably could have a good friend with her but don't take it further. Not everyone we think we like turns into boyfriend and girlfriend. So stay friends but seek out others for a more permanent commitment.
Sue...good luck

You cant help who you like, but you have to think about the whole picture and the fact that if anything was to happen, if you told this girl she may find it horrible and you may risk losing her, as well as your uncle. Or if she does return you feelings your family may not be as open and could risk hurting a lot of people. My advice is to keep your feelings to yourself, atleast for now till you work out whether its just a silly crush or it goes deeper.
