I think the major problem with this whole thing is the way the Lybyans greeted this murderer as a hero. For that reason alone he should not have been released.

Who cares, he's going to die anyways. The state did not want to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on his medication. Perhaps they can spend that money on people that actually deserve it, like schools and hospitals.

He was in Scotland...that's not a state...and they have a universal health care (and I'm sure a dying prisoner is at the bottom of the receiving end of that) Since he's dying...they aren't trying to save him, it's too late for that. Morphine is cheap...they should have kept him there, and let him croak in prison.

The word has many meanings.

And hospitalizations are still expensive, whether it is treatment or not. Universal health care doesnt mean its free. The government is still paying for it.
