I'd be for legalizing it for use by people over 21 years of age, just like alcohol. If adults want to be dumb, that is their choice. But, minors should be protected from premature exposure.

People still do it anyway - and it doesnt harm anybody!
Its a recreational drug, not a poison like alcohol is.

I believe it at least should be legalized for medicinal purposes. It has been used for cancer patients after kemo treatments and has helped them to deal with pain and nausea. When I was younger I smoked it because it helped my headaches 'cause I have nystagmus. it helped me a great deal.I know of at least 11 states here in the USA that it's legal for that purpose. Some states allow us to possess small amounts, it's a start.

I agree ethmer. I think it would actually be easier to keep it out of minors hands if it was legal.

Yes, it should be decriminalized, along with most other recreational drugs. Prohibition has never worked, but instead causes gang violence, needlessly clogs the justice system, and distracts law enforcement from persuing crimes with actual victims.

...and perhaps worst of all, dealers will generally sell to minors, whereas a liquor store generally will not. Criminalizing drugs makes them more accessible to the very people we most want to prevent having them - minors.

I personally think they all should be legal but that aside...
people are going to do it (maybe even less...look at when alcohol was made illegal...use rose %40) whether its legal or not

plus if youre going to make weed illegal...you should make alcohol and cigarettes illegal because they are far more dangerous
that doesnt include the chemicals that ILLEGAL dealers put into it to better their 'business'

people stiill do it anyway?? People do other things that are illegal every day, like rape and murder, but (I hope) you do not wish for those things to be legalized. Just because other people do it does not make it a good idea.
I do not smoke anything, but I have no objection in it being made legal. I, however, would not smoke it, even if it was legalized.

heroin can be recreational too. so can cocaine. the problem with drugs is that they are addictive. even if you meant for them to be recreational...they turn into an addiction pretty quick.

And what does that have to do with the legality of the drug? Alcohol and tabacco are both legal and addicting. Not all drugs are equally addictive. Pot is not really addictive. It is habit forming, but there is no physical addiction.

You are wrong. Where are you getting your information?

here is the definition of addiction:

addiction–noun
the state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming, as narcotics, to such an extent that its cessation causes severe trauma.

There is no severe trauma when a user stops smoking pot. It might make someone irratable, but there is no physical withdrawal that happens with tobaccao, alcohol, and other drugs.
