Laptop keyboard problem

I have hit a key on my PC laptop keyboard and now can't type properly and some letters aren't working and some have been replaced by numbers, can anyone help?

You hit the number lock button... it's the one that says 'num lk' near the number pad. Press it and it's fixed.

Funny you should mention thius. Just yesterday I managed to screw up myjkeyboard by spilling drink on it. Now I am pretty good with computers so I opened it up (so I could dry it) but even after it was dry I had a really fun time finding out that some key presses were in fact other ey presses. Some of them multiple. Like most numbers at the top actually were 3 key presses but I couldnt tell what as keys were coming up in circles (windows security).

So in your case letters have been replaced by numbers? That is odd.

You can get a keyboard pretty cheap though. Like $30NZ dollar easily.

If you turned on numb lock then you could try turning it off.
But, if its a different key, try using the FN button near the control, windows, and alt keys.
Otherwise, have someone check it out.

3 keys on my laptop do not work. They type the wrong symbol.
I can live with that except for one of them. nowhere on the keyboard can I get the 'at' symbol to typr an email.
does anyone have any ideas? 2 and shift = a comma
