Landord issues

Asked by mellyssa 23 days ago, 2 answers.

As I was coming home one day, I saw my landlord come from the back of our duplex. He gave no notice, or warning that he was to be coming over. Is he allowed to do that? The fact that he came around from the back made me suspicious. I asked him and he...

said, well, I was just in the nighborhood. It kinda creeps me out, and I'm not sure what to do. It seemed suspicious that he just took off pretty quickly, and came around the corner just as m truck pulled in the driveway!

I'm pretty sure sense he owns the land, he's aloud on it whenever he wants. But you do have a right to your privacy, if it happens again then you should try telling him that you need advance notice when he's planning on coming over and if it happens regularly and you feel very uneasy and maybe even unsafe, I would tell someone else other than fun advice.

I don't think he needs to give you notice to come over and checkout the exterior property. But, in most states, he has to give you 24 hours before coming over to inspect the interior of your residence.
