I think everyone should be labled as normal. because when you think about it we are our own person and we are who we want to be.
I dont think the lables have steryotypes I think the steryotypes have lables
if you dont want to be goth or prep dont dress and act goth or prep its really that easy if everyone just acted like themselfs then there would be no lables
I'm a white woman. It's what it is-just an adjective, no biggie! It doesn't define me, it doesn't affect me, because in life, you create your own happiness, you make your own dreams come true-wherever you come from, whatever color you are, whatever shape you have, whatever 'thing' you get into. If the majority of people would understand that these adjectives are just descriptive words like, 'the plush purple chair' or whatever, then perhaps they wouldn't be so offended. One way to break strereotypes is to truly accept people for who they are-good, bad, and otherwise. It's that need to 'change' people that creates problems. Love and acceptance really are wonderful tools to feel good-about yourself and about others.
I think being normal is vastly over rated lol but I think that the label emo is a label of person and I use it for myself it mat have started out as a type of music but then it became more a type of person and style so people get over the fact that it started out as something dif but I think that lables are good and bad kuz the jews died for being jewish and they did nothing wrong as a whole lol but it can b good lol I hope this helped lol sorry I had to put the whole emo thing in it lol
jeez! can you stop saying 'lol'? that is sooo anoying!!
Those like me believe labeling yourself 'punk' or 'emo' shows that you have no originality. If I'm going to be labeled as anything, the label is going to be 'Me'.
Also, as far as the whole 'Emo' thing goes, if you're doing it because it's trendy, then obviously you have no originality, and are afraid to be yourself, because you feel no one will accept you for who you are.
Now if you like dressing like what is considered 'emo' just because you like to dress that way, there is nothing wrong with it, that IS being original.
The young kids who complain about 'life sucking' really don't know anything. Life can always be a hell of a lot worse. If youg et to eat even 1 meal a day, you're still doing so much better than a majority of kids in other countries. If you have a bed to sleep in, you're luckier than most of the world.
The only people who should feel that depressed are those who have had something seriously wrong done to them(like molested as a child, beaten, or otherwise abused) I was molested when I was 6, and sure I go through bouts of depression from time to time, but you'll never here me say 'my life just sucks' because I still have it better than a lot of people out there.
Teens need to realize that most of the time, parents make 'stupid' rules because they love you, and want to protect you from harm.
If you stop and think about it, parents usually are right. There are a lot of sick puppies in this world who DO in fact kidnap/rape/kill people.
Just look online for how many sex offenders are near you, it's scary.

why do people think it is bad to 'label' yourself?
Why do people think it is bad to 'label' yourself? Black, white, male, female are labels but you never see anyone get mad when you call them a guy or a girl. The labels are not bad..it is the sterotypes that come along with the labels not the labels themselves. What is you opinion about labels?
