There isn't really anyay. Just say, I think we wee better off being friends. I just don't feel anything more than friendship between us.

angelfire2708 is right there isnt a way of breaking up with someone without them hurting you. but.

make sure you do it in person.
dont send him a text (trust me it hurts)
let him down as gently as possible
explain why your dont want to be in the relationship with him
