Jrotc people, or military personnel!

I just signed up 4 the jrotc at highschool. I am super excited and have been looking at countless videos on youtube about it. But im still wondering...what exactly do you do, in the classroom? Not extracurricular activities but actual class stuff?

My little brother is Company Commander in his JROTC class. He always talks about doing PT (physical training) and doing basic things that sort of remind him of another gym/history class. He also takes his company and inspects their uniforms on days when they have to dress in their gear.

He gets homework assignments where he has to watch the news and catch up on his current events and he gets quizzes (usually oral) about them. He had a project this year where he had to research a country. Also, you learn all the specifics about the military (I believe branch by branch) and what certain people do and what positions are expected to do.
