WOW!! Are you serious?? You people are ridiculous. Do any of you know what is actually at stake in this election? Have you been paying attention? If any of you knew John McSame's policies and what he stands for, I guarantee you would have a different view. I urge anyone who is unsure about who to vote for, DO YOUR RESEARCH. Get the facts. Do not listen to hear say. Truth is there are still many racists people who will not vote for Obama just because he is HALF BLACK, and as hard as it is for me to accept it, I do. But at the same time, if you care about domestic issues like affordable healthcare, affordable education, more and better paying jobs, and other things that affect everyday people then please do your research and find out what both candidates positions are on these issues and I promise you the choice will be clear. There are a lot of things that need to be addressed and fixed in this country and it will take a democrat to do it. The republicans only care about big business. The Democrats are for the american people. Please know your history before you speak ignorance. Did you know that John McSame is against Roe v Wade? Do your research. Did you know that John McSame doesn't know anything about the economy? Do your research. Did you know that John McSame is against WOMEN RIGHTS? Do your research. Did you know that John McSame wants to continue Bush's tax cuts for the rich? Do your research. Did you know that John McSame wants to stay in Iraq for 100 years? OK you probably knew that already. Did you know that John McSame wants to get rid of affirmative action? DO YOUR RESEARCH. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!! We actually have a chance to elect a president that is actually for the people. I wouldn't care if he was green and orange with purple polk a dots on his forehead, HE IS FOR THE PEOPLE!!! Obama is a breath of fresh air and represents change that is desperately needed in Washington. If you do know know Obama and what he represents, I urge you to DO YOUR RESEARCH. Review his voting record in the senate---He is for the people---YouTube some of his speeches---He is for the people--Read his books. Just get to know him and you will know he is what we need. Get rid of the special interests in Washington and elect Barack Obama for President.
A FEW OBAMA FACTS
1. He will ONLY raise taxes for the rich, people making over $250,000 a year which is about 1% of the population.
2. He will eliminate taxes for senior citizens making $50,000 a year or less.
3. He will take those same tax cuts that Bush gives to the rich and give them to people who really need them, people making $150,000 a year or less.
4. Universal Healthcare for all Americans.
5. He will bring our troops home and use the $10 billion a month that we have been spending in Iraq on America's needs.
6. He does not take money from federal lobbyists so there will be no one telling him what to do. He will be working for the american people.
Basically, everything that is broken, Obama will fix. He is not a magician nor will it be easy but everything that needs to be done could have already been done, we've just never had anybody to stand up for us and special interests have been controlling Washington. Just look around, it's pretty obvious. Bush has been the worst president in American History. And now, it will take the smartest, most intellectual president that we have ever had to clean up after his mess. Thank You God for sending us Barack Obama. The world will be a much better place becasue of it. Trust. You'll See.
And oh yea...before you make up your mind who to vote for, DO YOUR RESEARCH. He is not as bad as conservatives claim him to be. They are just frustrated that they cant find any dirt on him, not to mention the wonderful pictures from overseas. THEY ARE HATERS!! DONT BE A HATER!!! DO YOUR RESEARCH!!! Peace..Love..Happineess...YES WE CAN!!!
That is a very mature coment on his part. Not all his views are the same as Bush, do you know what Obama wants to do? He wants to pull all troops out of Iraq? That may sound good to you but do you know what will happen after that? They could attack! Do we really want that? Does Obama want to risk that, did he really think about this.
MCCAIN all the way, because that is how it is spelled, but you can vote for who you want, I'm voting McCain.
Human Dignity and the Sanctity of Life
Overturning Roe v. Wade
John McCain believes Roe v. Wade is a flawed decision that must be overturned, and as president he will nominate judges who understand that courts should not be in the business of legislating from the bench.
Constitutional balance would be restored by the reversal of Roe v. Wade, returning the abortion question to the individual states. The difficult issue of abortion should not be decided by judicial fiat.
However, the reversal of Roe v. Wade represents only one step in the long path toward ending abortion. Once the question is returned to the states, the fight for life will be one of courage and compassion - the courage of a pregnant mother to bring her child into the world and the compassion of civil society to meet her needs and those of her newborn baby. The pro-life movement has done tremendous work in building and reinforcing the infrastructure of civil society by strengthening faith-based, community, and neighborhood organizations that provide critical services to pregnant mothers in need. This work must continue and government must find new ways to empower and strengthen these armies of compassion. These important groups can help build the consensus necessary to end abortion at the state level. As John McCain has publicly noted, At its core, abortion is a human tragedy. To effect meaningful change, we must engage the debate at a human level.
Promoting Adoption
In 1993, John McCain and his wife, Cindy, adopted a little girl from Mother Teresa's orphanage in Bangladesh. She has been a blessing to the McCain family and helped make adoption advocacy a personal issue for the Senator.
The McCain family experience is not unique; millions of families have had their lives transformed by the adoption of a child. As president, motivated by his personal experience, John McCain will seek ways to promote adoption as a first option for women struggling with a crisis pregnancy. In the past, he cosponsored legislation to prohibit discrimination against families with adopted children, to provide adoption education, and to permit tax deductions for qualified adoption expenses, as well as to remove barriers to interracial and inter-ethnic adoptions.
Protecting Marriage
As president, John McCain would nominate judges who understand that the role of the Court is not to subvert the rights of the people by legislating from the bench. Critical to Constitutional balance is ensuring that, where state and local governments do act to preserve the traditional family, the Courts must not overstep their authority and thwart the Constitutional right of the people to decide this question.
The family represents the foundation of Western Civilization and civil society and John McCain believes the institution of marriage is a union between one man and one woman. It is only this definition that sufficiently recognizes the vital and unique role played by mothers and fathers in the raising of children, and the role of the family in shaping, stabilizing, and strengthening communities and our nation.
As with most issues vital to the preservation and health of civil society, the basic responsibility for preserving and strengthening the family should reside at the level of government closest to the people. In their wisdom, the Founding Fathers reserved for the States the authority and responsibility to protect and strengthen the vital institutions of our civil society. They did so to ensure that the voices of America's families could not be ignored by an indifferent national government or suffocated through filibusters and clever legislative maneuvering in Congress.
Addressing the Moral Concerns of Advanced Technology
Stem cell research offers tremendous hope for those suffering from a variety of deadly diseases - hope for both cures and life-extending treatments. However, the compassion to relieve suffering and to cure deadly disease cannot erode moral and ethical principles.
For this reason, John McCain opposes the intentional creation of human embryos for research purposes. To that end, Senator McCain voted to ban the practice of fetal farming, making it a federal crime for researchers to use cells or fetal tissue from an embryo created for research purposes. Furthermore, he voted to ban attempts to use or obtain human cells gestated in animals. Finally, John McCain strongly opposes human cloning and voted to ban the practice, and any related experimentation, under federal law.
As president, John McCain will strongly support funding for promising research programs, including amniotic fluid and adult stem cell research and other types of scientific study that do not involve the use of human embryos.
Where federal funds are used for stem cell research, Senator McCain believes clear lines should be drawn that reflect a refusal to sacrifice moral values and ethical principles for the sake of scientific progress, and that any such research should be subject to strict federal guidelines.
Protecting Children from Internet Pornography
John McCain believes the Internet offers tremendous promise in terms of freedom of expression, information sharing, and the spread of knowledge and commerce. It represents the greatest innovation of the modern era in terms of the democratization of free speech and access to information. From human rights groups in China to bloggers here in the United States, the Internet has opened a global dialogue that has propelled the world into an exciting new century of connectivity and communication.
However, there is a darker side to the Internet. Along with the access and anonymity of the Internet have come those who would use it to peddle child pornography and other sexually explicit material and to prey upon children.
John McCain has been a leader in pushing legislation through Congress that requires all schools and libraries receiving federal subsidies for Internet connectivity to utilize technology to restrict access to sexually explicit material by children using such computers. While the first line of defense for children will always be strong and involved parents, when they send their child to school or drop their child off at the library, parents have the right to feel safe that someone is going to be looking out for their children.
Protecting Children from Online Predators
America's most precious asset is its children. The innocence of childhood provides hope for the future and refreshes and restores the ideals of this great country. However, there are those who prey upon this innocence and the Internet offers these predators unprecedented, often anonymous, access to children. John McCain has taken a hard line against pedophiles that would use the Internet to prey upon children by proposing the first-of-its-kind national online registry for persons who have been convicted of sex crimes against children. Senator McCain's legislation requires that sex offenders register all online accounts in a national database that can be used by law enforcement to investigate crimes against children. If these predators fail to register they would be sent to prison for ten years. The legislation also makes use of the Internet an aggravating factor in sex crimes against children, adding an additional ten years to any conviction. It is the responsibility of government to do all that can be done to protect children from predators who lurk on the Internet.
The Greatest Honor is to Serve the Cause of Human Dignity
There is no greater nobility than to sacrifice for a great cause and no cause greater than protection of human dignity. Decency, human compassion, self-sacrifice and the defense of innocent life are at the core of John McCain's value system and will be the guiding principles of a McCain Presidency.
To sacrifice for a cause greater than yourself, and to sacrifice your life to the eminence of that cause, is the noblest activity of all.
John McCain is the son and grandson of military officers. He served as a Navy pilot, honored to live in the company of heroes as a prisoner of war in Vietnam, and is a beloved husband and father. Senator McCain has enjoyed the quiet blessings found in serving others.
That was copy and pasted btw. We don't need so high of hopes that someone can't complete, if Obama promises those things, than he better have that happened. You don't think Bush said that too. He did, and look what happened still.
Don't compare the two Bush and McCain, because they are two different people. Mccain has been to war, Obama hasn't. McCain was a POW, and was tortured, he survived. He knows how the wars work more than Obama dreams of, even though he's been to Iraq.
I'm going to end it there, because I don't want to start a fight, because by all your post you seem to stir the pot, you vote Obama if you wish. I'm still voting McCain.
I am for McCain because Obama doesn't seem american at all. he says he will make changes but never explains how. I think if Obama became president it would lead to another 9/11 which I rather not happen. At least McCain has served his country and has had more experience than Obama by a long shot. The funny thing is that on the radio they were interviewing people about who they were voting for and the one person said Obama and they asked that if whites don't vote for Obama it's because they are prejudice but if blacks don't vote for McCain it's perfectly fine. I don't understand that.
richb430-
maybe he will raise taxes for the rich but what about middle class?he will raise taxes for them to!and he will make piss as* jobs like mcdonalds and gas tsations pay more!which is a bad thing because people like my parents work hard for a living!!!I doubt it would kill any lazy as* person to get a real job than to work at some fast food crappy place!and when there are troops out working...guess what?!?they CHOOSE to go stand up for america!and if the troops come home then what iraq takes over?he does not fix a thing he will mess up america more than it is!!!
a href=http://vids.
Iraq takes over? Seriously? Did those words come out of your mouth? Iraq wasnt in a position to take over anything when Saddam Hussein was in power, in case you forgot there were no weapons found in Iraq... As for taking over now? The country is practically in a civil war, George Bush has single handedly destroyed an entire country. How do you expect them to take over anything while they're busy killing each other? Also Iraq never attacked the US. Something everyone CONVENIENTLY forgets... Until the US went in there was no al queada in Iraq... Maybe you should look up the facts instead of listening to Bush...
richb - it was funny, but you may have overreached with the word play
sigh...
after reading some of the answers posted I can only say that the IQ of the american teen is at a historical low...
and I am thankful many of you are too young to vote...
repeating what your parents say at the dinner table or what you heard on FOX news is not thinking it is parroting...
and quite boring...
and to ladydon07 - you didn't need to point out the cut and paste...we could tell...
McCain will win, your looking at it wrong rich430. you have to take into account how stupid the American people are. not that I want him to win but still. sure if Obama was a white guy named Smith he'd have a hell of a shot. but how many Americans won't vote for him because of his name, how many won't vote for him because hes black. its not right, but its the truth. And then how many people arn't voting because they don't like either candidate like myslef, I know a lot people who arn't. and just like Bush took the Bible belt and Texas in the last election. mcCain will too for sure. Obama's going to need a miricle to win.
