With the word going around the internet like wild-fire, Cena propsed to his girl-friend Liz late last September. In late October Cena suffered an injury resulting from a torn pectoral muscle of the right side of his chest.

Just recently Cena was in Italy about an week ago to promote the Royal Rumble.

John Cena was interviewed by Sky Sport in Italy in Jan 23, 2008. His interview ran for about an hour, he is a small part of the interview that will clear up a lot of controversy surrounding his proposal to Liz:

Sky Sports in Italy sent in word that John Cena was in town to promote the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Cena taped a one hour interview with Luca and the folks at Sky that will air tomorrow at 6:30PM CET on Sky Sport 2. In the interview, Cena said that he’s hoping to be involved in some way shape or form at WrestleMania although a return to the ring in a wrestling role will not be happening until the next six months. Cena also talked about the rumored wedding which started after a website posted pictures of him proposing to his girlfriend. Cena said that while he and his girlfriend decided to get married sometime this year a few days before the injury, their relationship fell apart and he said that he’s single once again. As for his favorite match, the one against Triple H at WrestleMania 22 - where he got booed big time - is on the top of his list. Cena added that he watches every WWE TV show he can even while injured and announced that WWE will be back in Italy with the RAW brand in November for two shows.

Well keeping your personal life private is one thing it will all come out eventually and the lies will look worse they him trying to be private. It isn't good from a business standpoint for his fans to find out he was lying in that interview if wedding pics come out at some point or wedding news which it will IF it is still true. I have watched the WWE for a very very long time and have never seen any superstar lie about their personal life to keep fans ever, since it all comes out in the end. I mean news of wives, babies, attitudes, drugs it all comes out noone keeps those secrets in regardless of how it makes them look. So at this point until I see a ring or wedding photos I will believe him over anyone with so called inside information I have seen posted on the net.

Sorry, but I agree with 'psustacie' that the italian interview is BS. I count many lies in that article. He's in the MAIN EVENT at WM ! That is by far not a small role and not the six months he referred to. And from a business standpoint, the WWE will do a lot of things to protect images and so forth. It's done all the time behind the scenes. Cena has been getting mixed reactions from all the fans for months now. His fan base is mostly women and children so I'm sure the WWE is not quite sure what to do with this whole Cena engagement/wedding issue. Before he was injured, he was THE COMPANY MAN and many many things rode on his shoulders. Plus, with the evil things being said about Liz, can you blame him for not be completely honest? Have you seen how some women fans act? I say John do what you have to do to protect your privacy and your fiancee ! True Cena fans will follow you anywhere.

Well as far as the interview and the WM details that is about business do you think he was really going to come out and say yeah I will be in the main event. No they wanted to keep his return a surprise most of the locker room didn't even know he was going to return at the Rumble it was done that way for the element of surprise which is something that doesn't happen too much anymore due to the internet. So I wouldn't say just because he lied about that that he is lying about if he is getting married. And he gets mixed reaction due to the fact people feel he was being shoved down their throats him getting married wasn't going to change how kids felt about him but lying would be something that will change a lot of peoples minds. IF they get married it will come out look at everything else that has and if it was supposed to be so private maybe she should have not posted the pictures on her myspace and a lot of people have read some not so nice things about her that is part of the reason people were saying things about her.

Where did people read these awful things about her? How valid are they? Internet sources ? he is now engaged there are photos of him proposing on the internet. it sucks that he is getting married because then it would be weird to think of him as the hottest wrestler because he has a wife. now do not get me wrong he is still and he will always be he hottest wrestler alive.

He will STILL be the same John married or not. What will change? You'll still be seeing him on TV every week, seeing him at live events and many personal appearances...Nothing about him being HOT is going to change just because he's got a girlfriend/fiancee/wife. He will still be the same wonderful, kind, generous and incredibly sexy man he is and always has been. Now, he may not be able to take girls up on their offers to tag team him or show him the ropes but hey, you can't get everything in life ! So I am assuming you didn't go to any websites and see him down on one knee in a pic proposing? There is one of those. Getting down on one knee with a ring means he's asking her to marry him (again). I have seen the entire My Life dvd and the 5?'s are all from '06 if I remember correctly. Besides it doesn't matter what the heck he said on 5?'s b/c it is obvious he's been lying about Liz for years.
