why do people say Jesus H Christ? Did the dudes middle name start with an H or something?

I think that it's for humorous emphasis, and maybe to (slighlty) reduce the implication of blasphemy ('oh, no, I didn't swear using the name of the Lord, I was referring to another Jesus...')

I find it pretty offensive, personally.
