How can i avoid feeling jealous

I easily get jealous at stupid things...how can I avoid feeling jealous when I really shouldnt?

hmm..my advice to the two people above me is this...

when you get that familar feeling of jealously begin to run thru your veins, give yourself a moment. count to 5 in your head and ask yourself why you're feeling this way...and is it worth it. life is too short to be petty...try to be reasonable...think things thru BEFORE you react...you'll be a much happier person.

I wish I could give you a good enough answer for this but I can't because I'm the same way. I usually try to ignore and avoid situations that may make me feel jealous but if I do end up in a situation that causes jealousy... then I try to get out of it as soon as possible. It's probably not the best way to handle it but it's what I do and it works sometimes and other times... not so much.

im in exactly the same situation atm! I get jealous a lot when I really know I have no reason to! its frustrating and its only cause I know my boyfriend is very good looking and always think he can do better than me. He hates it when I get jealous so I try not to voice it when I am. if I need to I go to one of my best friends and have a rant about it and that makes me feel better! also I think it is definately a good idea to just take a step back and think it over as most of the time there is no good reason to be jealous at all! its quite hard but im learning to control it and im a lot happier when im not getting jealous all the time!
