Are Jasmine bushes supposed to shed their bark in late winter and early spring?

I thought jasmine was a form of ground cover, or a vine?

The usually lose their leaves in autumn and winter - don't know about the bark.

Captain, you get different types of jasmine, you get those that are ground cover and vine and then you get those that aren't. We have two types in our garden.
