Japanese tea ceremony

Twilight Quotes Asked by cjscoot 4 months ago, 1 answer.

I'd really like to preform a casual Japanese tea ceremony, but I'm not sure where to start. I've looked up the basics but I don't really understand everything. Can someone give me some tips?

It depends on if you are having a chakai or chaji.

Chakai is more simple and easy where you serve just tea and sweets.

Chaji is more complicated you serve a full meal, tea, sweets, and it last longer.

It is traditional for both to wear kimonos. When a person enters shoes must come of and you are to bow to those around you.

You serve sweets and green tea. Some drink from the same tea bowl, this is a traditional way, but most people now drink it from separate cups.

This is how we do it in my family. But we have a lighter air about it. Most of use do not wear traditional dress, we have american sweets as well as japanese, and we have more than 4 people.
