When will the apple itouch increase in capacity?

Tigerrrr Asked by sarahhhhh 6 months ago, 3 answers.

How long do you think it'll take for Apple to increase the space on the iTouch? Right now it's at 16 GB. I've been interested in it, but I already have 14 GB of music so I don't know how long it'll take before I fill it up. I know Apple has really boomed and is still booming, so should I just wait it out? Or go ahead and get one?

Good Question... tough to answer!

At the next revision of the iPod touch the capacity is most likely to double - so you'd
have 32Gb and 16Gb versions, instead of the current 16Gb and 8Gb versions. 32Gb would be much more useful in my opinion, but the problem is, when will it come out? The iPod range has just seen a revamp in September, and I would say it will be a while before we see an update. Going by what apple have usually done, its around about a year in between iPod updates, so the next one will probably be September 2008 sometime - could you wait that long? I guess an alternative is to get a 16Gb one now and not to put all your music onto your iPod Touch at once, so that way you can have music and at least some videos/movies, and pictures. If you figure you could get away with the 16Gb one, then go get one - you won't regret it, I'm sure!

I wish Apple would have put a hard drive disk into the iPod Touch instead of flash memory, and dropped the iPod Classic altogether - that way, you could have an 80Gb iPod Touch... imagine that - I'd be buying one in a heartbeat, and sarahhh, you wouldn't be asking this question!

Oh lord.. an 80 GB iTouch... I'd buy one in a heartbeat as well. Well, I guess we can't have our cake and eat it too, right? I have an 80 GB Classic right now.. but it's not holding up so well. That's why I was debating about the iTouch. Hmm, well.. time will tell.
