funny that all the christians are so quick to jump on the wright is wrong bandwagon...
what about rev. hagee? the rev. that supports mccain...
During the same September 18, 2006, edition of National Public Radio's Fresh Air, Hagee said Hurricane Katrina was an act of God, punishing New Orleans for a level of sin that was offensive to God. He referred to a homosexual parade held on the date the hurricane struck and this was proof of the judgment of God against the city of New Orleans.
this man endorses mccain...
Hagee has endorsed Senator John McCain in the 2008 presidential election. McCain said, I’m very proud to have Pastor Hagee’s support.
On April 20, 2008, while appearing on This Week with George Stephanopoulos, and after criticizing Barack Obama's repudiation of Bill Ayers, McCain said that it was probably a mistake to court and accept Hagee's endorsement, although he's still glad to have it.
why aren't you as upset about this?
First of all who gives a crap if he doesn't say god bless america, I could care less about america, is worst things in the world that's more important to say, and no we are not going to lay off Obama because if he disagree so much about what his pastor said then why attend that church? but now he doesn't attend that church, let's be real people he agrees with everything his pastor said and the only reason he is his ex pastor is because it made him look bad especially when he wants to be the president, and what does that say about Obama?
Reverend Wright,
This Reverend is certainly wrong in this case. Remember, when he's making a slant against America, he's not bashing Whites only, he's taking a shot at the rest of us as well. Any person who professes to be of the Christian needs to promote love, not hate, unity not division, forgiveness, not revenge, truth, not lies.
Reverend Wright Has Fallen Short Has Missed The Mark (Sinned) In These Areas,
Michael (A Non-White Sympathizer Of Your Indignation Against Mr. Wright)
I was going to log on to Obama's website and read his position on the issues. I was also going to watch him on TV and study his background to appraise him as a leader. Then I saw something interesting on Fox News. Obama's former pastor apparently said G*D d*mn America. Now, they didn't say what Obama's reaction to this was, so I decided to err on the side of caution and assume that Obama supports everything this man said, including GD America. This makes my job so much easier! I don't even have to research Obama anymore.
Now, when I go vote in my state's primary, all I need to do is look at the ballot and vote for the candidate who didn't say GD America! Isn't democracy great?
I read the entire sermon where this was stated. he was referring to 9/11 and talking about the things that the u.s. has done around the world and at home. he said god DAMN america, not goddamn america. when I saw the first sound byte, I thought that it was goddamn america. being a researcher and knowing how something out of context can be misunderstood, I read the entire sermon. I am a believer of cause and effect and believe that our actions helped to bring about 9/11. I do not believe that the attack was justified, but I do understand that our actions anger others. his sermon, though terribly inflammatory, wasn't that far off the mark. I do not agree with some of what rev. wright says but I don't agree with most pastors. if I attended a religious service, I would want a peaceful experience, not the hell fire and brimstone that many preachers spout.
and, as I stated on my previous answer, I find it interesting that everyone is up in arms about wright but lets hagee and his endorsement of mccain slide under the radar.
I find that a few pastors develop 'bandwagon'-type themes and some become famous, or notorious for them. These themes aren't Christian in themselves, but get tacked onto the Christian message. That is repellent to me, whether the cause is anti-Americanism, or materialism, or right-wing politics, or whatever.
On the other hand, some stand for a cause which Christ Himself would stand for (Martin Luther King Jr, for example) and that's a very different matter. The Bible says 'by their fruits you shall know them', and if the fruit from their particular tree is hatred rather than love, then they're not following Jesus.

Is your pastor racist?
Hello, for those of you that attend church, is your Pastor racist?
I think Barock Obomma's Pastor is a disgrace and, very rude to say Not god bless America, but, gd America.
So, I was wondering if your Pastor would say those things.
