Is this normal?

One of my veryy (let me emphasize: VERY) close friends has severe anxiety. He has severe anxiety attacks, also, at random times.
I just looked up the symptoms of an anxiety attack in search of a specific symptom: Throwing up. When he has an anxiety...

attack, yes, his stomach hurts...Sometimes to the point where we have to take him to the hospital.
But early this morning, he had an anxiety attack. I got up and went into the bathroom, where he was doubled over the toilet, clutching his stomach and throwing up. He threw up for about 3 hours.
So is this apart of the anxiety? Or is it something else?

this is actually part of his own kind of anxiety attack

there are a lot of people that throw up when they are anxious, so him having these attacks plus the throwing up from anxiety is a bad mix

he needs to go to a doctor so he can be prescribed a drug to deal with these attacks...
