I'm 20, and my best friend (of many years) is a guy. Recently, I've developed a HUGE crush on him, but I don't want to mention it to him unless I'm sure that he feels the same way about me. We both flirt with each other all the time, but I'm not sure...

that it really means anything. More recently, he's started hooking up with this girl, and I think he's using it to try and make me jealous (and it's working). We're great friends and we love each other to death, but what is he trying to do by making me jealous of this girl? Is that his way of getting me to notice that he likes me, or is he just being an asshole for no reason?

if i were you, i'd ask him out for coffee or something and ask him how this relationship with this girl is goin. if he is not so sure about it then that might be a sign that he is tryin to make you jealous. tell him exactly how you feel. i know this is askin a lot, but what harm will it do? you guys have been friends for quite sometime, i dont think this will jepordize your friendship. BUT if he is saying that the relationship with this girl is going great, then wish him the best of luck, cause hes your good friend of many years, and this just means you can find that special someone somewhere else.

oK from a guys point of view.....

I have a friend that's similar to you in the sense that we always flirt and hang out together but there are 2 types of flirts.
One : the test flirt where you constantley test and see how you're flirting is and do you still have what it takes...

Two : The Hey how you doin Flirt. where you can actually feel the sexual tension when you are flirting .

If you guys have always been on flirt # one. Then he shouldn't pick it up, but if you really lay it on thick and he knows that you want to spank his ass. ( and guys useally pick this up ) and then goes out with another chick then you should sit back and let him do it.

Being Friends and being lovers are to differant things and if he feels he likes you more as a friend then you should respect that.
