Is this fair?

11.13.09 Asked by babyangel22 about 1 year ago, 5 answers.

My computer has like a virus.. and I can't really do anything about it. I don't have a restore disk that'll work. I don't think I virus is too bad, I can get on after an hour of turning it on.. but it's still super slow. It won't even let me do anything...

right when turn it on.
I want to get a new computer.. I just heard my mom telling my younger brother that they were getting a computer for him. My parents don't exactly know that my computer isn't really working.
I want to work this summer and earn money.. but I don't really want my parents to know. I don't know why.. I just like don't have the best relationship with them.
I don't think my parents would want me to go out and get a job. I'm kinda young.. I don't even know if I can get a job.. I'm not really sure what to do. Summer is coming up.. I'm turning 15.

How much is the cheapest good computer?
What should I do?

Is it fair that my parents are getting my brother a new computer? This computer that I'm using has been passed down from my oldest sister to my second sister and now to me. It is approximately 9 years old. Is this fair?
What should I do?
I don't really want to argue and make it a big deal..

Since you say it is an older computer, it may not be a virus but rather too many programs and spyware that are running and utilizing too much of your computer's resources making it run slow.

I'd suggest that you get either or both of the free programs Spybot - Search and Destroy or Ad-Aware SE Personal, which can be acquired off the internet, and run them to clean up your computer.

Also make sure you have a good anti-virus program. I use the free version of AVG and it manages to catch viruses and other threats daily.

I will suggest you dont buy any old computer more than 2-3 years.

Get a new one with below config...it will have good speed and storage capacity
You can choose Celeron to P4 ...but price varies. I am sending you the cheapest one.

Intel Celeron 2.4 GHz, 256 MB Ram, 40 GB Hdd, Iternal Modem, Cd/DVD Writer

It can't hurt just to ask. You can get jobs at certain places if you really want to earn it and so what if you don't have the greatest relationship with your parents... you can gain one by asking for stuff to help them with and earn the computer by helping them... it ain't going to kill you if you don't have a computer though... and if it does then you have no life... I don't have a computer and I still go on through life... and the one I am using right now is my school's computer...

Try to download a windows source then install it, reinstalling windows really helps trust me and it will also remove most or all of the viruses
